The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on Wednesday announced the results of NEET-PG 2022, just ten days after the examination was conducted. The exam for around 42,000 PG seats in the country is attempted by over 2 lakh MBBS graduates who have completed their one-year compulsory internship.
NEET-PG 2022 was in the news as many MBBS graduates demanded that it be delayed by six to ten weeks as there was no distinction between counseling for the previous batch and the examination for the present.
“NEET-PG Result Out! I congratulate all the students who have qualified for NEET-PG. In a tweet, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, I applaud @NBEMS_INDIA for their commendable job of declaring results in record 10 days. The examination and counseling conducting bodies for PG courses are trying to bridge the gap between the batches due to the pandemic and litigation.

The cut-off for NEET-PG 2022 for general category and EWS students is 275 marks out of 800. For Persons with Disabilities, it is 260 and as per NBE it is 245 for SC/ ST/ and OBC candidates.
NBE also stated that two questions were found to be technically incorrect as they had more than one correct answer. For these questions, full marks will be awarded to all the candidates, whether they have attempted it or not.
The exam, which usually takes place in January every year, was conducted in September last year due to delays due to the pandemic. Once completed, the counseling process was stuck due to several cases regarding the newly introduced EWS quota. With PG students working as junior residents as part of their training in medical college hospitals, these delays resulted in staff shortage in hospitals and other residents took to the streets demanding expedited counseling .
